VS Grenier has much to be happy about. She said, "I can't believe it. This is our first year out and we actually placed in the Top Ten in many different categories. A dream come true for all of here at SFC."
Grenier herself placed in the Top Ten Editors of 2007 and her article, Yes, Virginia, There IS a Santa Claus, tied for second place in the nonfiction category.
Grenier's SFC team also place in the Top Ten in many different categories. Gayle Jacobson-Huset, Assistant Editor placed in the Top Ten Fiction category with her story, Pepper-Jack Ray and Waldo's Scary Halloween. Art Director, Chrissy Fanslau, placed in the Top Ten Best Magazine Cover Art category for her November 2007 issue cover.
Stories for Children Magazine's Bookstore place fifth in the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll 2007 for Best Bookstore on the web. What makes this bookstore so amazing is you can purchase books by the SFC contributors, featured guest such as New York Best-selling author Brandon Mull and Award-winning author Mark Peter Hughes, books reviewed by SFC, and children's book award winners.
Also among the Top Ten winners in the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll 2007 are many of Stories for Children Magazine's contributors. Illustrator, Zariah's artwork for Huoda Lauda Eyes, won second place for Best Artwork for a short story and Illustrator Nicole Brdkelbaum, won third place for Stories for Children Magazine's May 2007 issue cover in the category Best Magazine Cover Art.
"2007 has been a great year for us," said Grenier. "Now to make 2008 even better!"
